Girls Being Girls

Being a woman is… funny, to say the least.

Don’t get me wrong, I love women, we’re absolutely amazing but there’s so much being expected from us and there are tons of societal “rules“ that we grow up following just because.

Some may say that we’re too emotional, confused, we’re “too much” or “not enough”,  we learn growing up that we should be more gracious, feminine, polite, soft, and only time, healing, experience and connection teach us otherwise.

I can’t stress enough how proud I feel because so many of us grow up to finally love ourselves unconditionally, our flaws, our story and our background, and heal the patterns, beliefs and behaviors that were holding us down for so long.

I cherish our growth and that’s why I want to share with you some practices that I find incredibly useful for reconnecting with ourselves and start regaining our power (or start discovering it for the first time)

  • Have a gratitude journal and write in it daily. Being grateful is an amazing way to raise our vibration.

  • Take yourself out on dates (or go with your girlfriends) and have a good time giving love, recreation and time to yourself.

  • Fully enjoy some “me time”. Even if it’s only 5 minutes when you shower or when you’re driving to work and back, give yourself a moment of compassion and joy.

  • Repeat affirmations and mantras to raise your feminine energy and rewire your thoughts. Teach yourself that you are brave, worthy, creative, powerful, full of love, you deserve happiness, you deserve to rest and have recreation, you can get anything you want and become the woman that you really want to be.

  • Be honest and responsible with yourself. Is the life you’re living right now the one that fulfills you? What can you change to meet that version of yourself that is doing so?

  • Forgive yourself for the past and teach yourself how to get excited about the future without forgetting to live the present moment. A coach can help you with this.

These activities could definitely be performed with your kids, and, in fact, teaching them about self-love, self-worth, boundaries, independence, dreaming big and being connected with themselves is crucial to help them on their journey to become healthy and grounded women.

Dear, you’re wonderful. Please believe it and start showing up for yourself.

I love you!
