Breaking Free from Being a Chameleon

In this episode, we delve into the profound impact of childhood trauma on our perception of ourselves, others, and the world around us. We discuss how trauma often leads to negative beliefs, such as the idea that we are not enough or that the world is an unsafe place. Personal experiences are shared, illustrating how these beliefs shape behavior, like striving for unattainable perfection or becoming a "chameleon" to fit in and avoid rejection.

The importance of recognizing and challenging these learned beliefs is so pivotal and can be done by starting to reexamine negative self-beliefs and to gradually extend this reevaluation to the perceptions of others and the world. By doing so, their sense of control, autonomy, and authenticity can be reclaimed.

The episode also touches on how others may try to maintain power over us by perpetuating these negative beliefs, making us dependent on them. Start working to break free from these patterns and embrace your true self, fostering independence and self-worth.
