The ‘Mom’ Clock
In this episode, I share my struggle with being on the ‘mom’ clock 24-7 and how I had this desperate feeling for needing a break. I didn’t know how to allow myself to take it. It stemmed from not feeling like a priority to myself, to my husband, and to others. In reality, I was a priority but didn’t recognize it.
The key insights from this show:
Clear communication is essential…people don’t know what you need unless you lay it out there. People can assume but chances are the assumptions aren’t accurate.
It’s ok to let your partner take full responsibility of how things are going so you can take time to re-charge. They may not do things the way you do or would like but it will all work out. Relinquishing control can be freeing and it doesn’t mean you’re not doing a good job.
Commit to making yourself a priority every single day. It can be something small or something big, regardless it’s important to care for yourself.
