Breaking Free
What happened to you in the past does not have the final say in who you become.
Trust me. It took me a while to understand it because when I was younger I went through a lot and that -unconsciously- defined me for a long time.
For some people, trauma and its effects can heal on its own, after a certain period of time. For others, the healing process may require professional treatment. In my case, neither worked and I felt so disappointed, like a hopeless case. Until I discovered coaching and holistic healing.
What could possibly go worse?
Recovery from trauma requires access to the conditions that promote healing and that’s one of the things that not many of us understand at first. If an individual who has experienced trauma doesn’t have access to recovery-supportive conditions, the effects of trauma may continue indefinitely, and may even worsen.
Becoming familiar with emotional regulation, having a safety net and gaining skills to manage your emotional world are a must when it comes to healing.
Allow yourself to feel what you feel when you feel it.
Acknowledge your feelings about the past as they arise and accept them, let them pass by but don’t get attached. It’s a step-by-step and day-by-day journey.
With the right conditions and support, your trauma will become a memory and you’ll set yourself free.
If you need help, contact me! I can guide you though the process until you can go your own way.
