Breathe With Me Real Quick

Entering a loop of chaos and self-destruction is quite easy tbh, and sometimes it’s not even something that we catch right on time to take action and stop it. Most of the time, it all starts with a tiny unsolved situation, another adds up and goes on and on, and before we can even realize it, we’re struggling with carrying a massive situation over our shoulders.

Now, we’ve all heard someone telling us to “just breathe” and we get mad because it just doesn’t work for us.

Have you ever practiced box breathing?

This is a wonderful and efficient breathing technique that can help to relieve stress, anxiety, panic, anger and even give a natural rhythm to our heartbeat in situations that trigger tachycardia. This helps with balancing our bodies and regulating our minds as well.

The most important thing here is trying to be consistent with the counts and the pace we’re keeping.

Let’s start by slowly counting to 4 while inhaling, then hold for 4 times, exhale counting to 4 again and then hold for 4 more times. Repeat this cycle until you feel calmer and try to focus on your breathing here, not your thoughts. If you notice that your mind is going away again, let that thought pass by and go back to focusing on your breath.

I can tell you for a fact that it works.

Do you know other easy grounding techniques? I’d love to know what works for you!
