Are you on your to-do list?

I see you Mama…you are dog tired.

You started your day with a to-do list that was a mile long.

By the time afternoon rolls around it feels like it should be time to go to bed. You’ve managed to get some of the things done that you feel like you needed to.

BUT the things on the list that are missing are things that are just for you - taking time to read the book you’ve been dying to start, making time to move your body, getting a mani, journaling, or just stopping to sit and do nothing.

You’re tired of feeling tired. You want to make time for yourself. The guilt creeps in because taking time for yourself somehow means that you’re not doing right by your kids and your partner -or at least that’s what you’re unconsciously feeding-

That is the farthest thing from the truth.

You must take time for yourself. It needs to be a non-negotiable item on your daily (yes, I said daily) to-do list. The feeling of being tired will start to fade away and you’ll end up showing up more efficiently for yourself and the others as well.

Here is what I do!

1. pick something that feels 'right' nothing that would feel too far out of reach or character.

2. Pick a time when you feel like it would be easiest to integrate into your day. Are your mornings crazy? Then maybe the evening is best once the kids are in bed.

3. Pick something that truly brings YOU joy, not what brings others joy.

You are as valuable and important as your family is to you (or your job, school, friends, etcetera) so you must take care of yourself in order to have the life and energy required to perform best in your various daily roles.

What will you do today for yourself?
